Welcome!

Greetings, Arroyo Vista Charter School Families,

Thank you for checking into the Principal's Corner. Arroyo Vista Charter School has been a shining star in the community for many years. I am very happy to be a part of this wonderful community and I am very grateful for warm welcome that I have received from staff, students, and families.

Arroyo Vista Charter School was chosen as a 2014 Distinguished School in the state of California. We were honored for our overall academic achievement and for two Signature Practices, Parent Involvement and Collaboration. We continue our proud work in these two areas.

The Arroyo Vista Charter dedicated staff are trained and excited about guiding students on their College and Career Readiness path. They are committed to working in a partnership with parents to maximize learning and to provide a memorable and meaningful experience for every student. Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is now an integral part of our campus and we have a full spectrum of educational opportunities for students from Transitional Kindergarten through eighth grade.

Schedules:

Our TK morning schedule, Mondays through Thursdays, is from 8:30 to 11:50. The afternoon schedule is from 12:10 to 3:30. On Fridays, the morning TK schedule is from 8:30 to 11:50 and the afternoon schedule is from 9:15 to 12:35. Kindergarten through sixth grade schedule, Mondays through Thursdays, is from 8:45 to 3:15. On Fridays, it is from 8:45 to 1:45. Middle School schedule, Mondays through Thursdays, is from 8:30 to 3:30. On Fridays it is from 8:30 to 1:45.

Parking:

With an enrollment of nearly 1000 students, parking is sometimes a challenge. Our TK and middle school schedules are different from K-6 to ease some of the congestion in the parking lot. Your patience and commitment to dropping your students off five minutes early will help to ensure that all of our students arrive to class on time and safely. Please honor our Safety Patrol students by following their directions and being courteous to them and other drivers. Using the marked crosswalks when crossing the streets, will help to keep all of our students safe.

Communication:

The calendar on Arroyo Vista's webpage is often updated and provides you with the dates and times of important activities and events. All important fliers will be distributed through Peachjar. If you are not receiving Peachjar fliers, that may mean that the school does not have your email. You may contact the office staff to give them your email or you may register for an inpidual account at peachjar.com. If you have a change in email or phone number, please alert the Attendance, Health Secretary with your new information so that we can be in communication with you.

Our motto: "Together Everyone Achieves More" reflects our commitment and desire to work as a collaborative learning community to meet the needs of all of our students.

Sincerely,

Juan Ricoy

Principal
