Before & After School Programs

South Bay Family YMCA

The South Bay Family YMCA provides childcare before and after school on our school campus.  The YMCA staff have all received background clearance checks and are trained in First Aide/CPR.  The YMCA offers quality childcare at competitive rates and can provide financial assistance in a variety of ways.  Please call 421-8805 for more information or visit their website at www.southbay.ymca.org.

Dynamic After School Hours (DASH)

The City of Chula Vista along with South Bay Family YMCA conduct the DASH (Dynamic After School Hours) Program on campus. This free program provides structured after school activities, including sports clinics, arts and crafts, cooperative games, weekly challenges, and traditional playground games for 1st – 6th grade students.

Please remember:

  • DASH is not a daycare and children may sign themselves in and out
  • Registration for DASH must be submitted by parents
  • Students must be picked up promptly after DASH is over for the day

DASH Hours at our school:
Monday – Thursday           3:15 – 5:15 pm (2 hours)
Friday                                    1:45 – 4:45 pm (3 hours)

Coyote Clubs

Our school team is excited to welcome students into our after-school community of learning, growth and opportunity. Our after-school program is called Coyote Clubs.  As a Charter School, we are fortunate to receive funding through our Extended Learning Opportunity Program (ELOP) grant to provide an additional two hours of enrichment learning and homework support to your children.  This program is free to all students.  Coyote Club offerings change each quarter based on instructor interest and availability.   Our goal is to provide a minimum of one club per day for each grade level band (i.e. TK-K, 1-3, 4-6 and 7-8).  New Coyote Club offerings will be provided to families each quarter.

Here is additional information regarding our Coyote Clubs:

  • Students enrolled in Dash/YMCA may enroll in Coyote Clubs
  • Due to the high level of interest in our programs, every student enrolled in a club will initially be placed on a waitlist by default.  Once applications have been reviewed, you will be notified by email regarding your child’s participation.
  • Students can join more than one club. Please ensure clubs are not overlapping.
  • Students who miss more than 3 club sessions (unexcused) will be unenrolled.

Ms. Irma Carillo-Huerta is our Coyote Club Coordinator.  Her email is irma.carrillohuerta@cvesd.org and she is willing to answer your questions at any time.
