Transitional Kindergarten

The California Kindergarten Readiness Act established a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program for children who miss the September 1 birth date cutoff to enroll in kindergarten. TK is a high-quality program between preschool and Kindergarten and is designed for younger students to engage in early academic learning experiences designed to promote success in kindergarten and beyond.

Arroyo Vista Charter School offers a full-day TK program. School hours are 8:45 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Friday.  Students in the program complete a full year in TK and then a full year in kindergarten before moving on to first grade.
